Why should you go to the ZOM ZOMBIE PROM??!!

The real question is... why SHOULDN'T you go???!! I know there are a variety of Prom events taking place at this time of the year. The options are spread out everywhere! High School Proms, Family Proms, Adult Proms... Most of these benefit a charity of some sort, which is AWESOME. ZOM supports charities or ANY event that helps our community! THAT is what we are about. However, I feel very strongly that our Zombie Prom stands out above all others, all across the planet, even. It even stands out above other Zombie Proms. Allow me to list the reasons why our Prom will BLOW YOUR FREAKIN MINDS:

1. ALL-AGES! Yep. Bring your 5 year old kid. Bring your 90 year old grandma. I GUARANTEE they will have fun. Grannie can check out the auction baskets, good-looking celebrities, 1960 version of Night of the Living Dead, and dance until she drops! Your kid will have a variety of zombie-themed games to play, contests to participate in, prizes to win, music to dance to, and four guys from MOVIES they LOVE! Grannie and 5 year old kid can take a fun Prom Photo together by our professional photographer with many great photo packages you can choose from!

2. GAMES! What Prom has zombie-carnival-themed games available to play??! NONE!! We are spilling the fun from our Zombie Carnival last year into the Zombie Prom! We will have our Zombie Stuffiez to win at each game! Not only will we have old favorites from the Carnival, but NEW games as well! Play a round of Knock out Teeth or Zombie Kills!

3. CELEBRITIES! Have you ever heard of a Zombie Prom with CELEBRITY guests??! Or ANY Prom for that matter??! These guys will be AT the Prom from BEGINNING to END. As most of you already know, we are HONORED to have such prestigious names making their way to Billings, Montana to be at our Zombie Prom! These guys are coming from as far as FLORIDA to meet YOU, their fans!

  • Alex Vincent, who played "Andy Barklay" on Child's Play 1 & 2, will be available with photos from the films to sign!
  • Jonathan Tiersten was "Ricky" from the film Sleepaway Camp and John Doesy in The Perfect House. Jonathan Tiersten is not only bringing photos to autograph, but he will also be performing an acoustic performance on stage!
  • Timothy Patrick Quill was the blacksmith in Army of Darkness and was our guest at the Zombie Carnival last year! Tim Quill is a great guy to meet and talk to about anything and everything! We loved having him and look forward to seeing him again!
  • Robert Jayne played the character "Melvin" in the film Tremors! This will be his FIRST appearance! Those who get his autograph will be some of the RARE FEW who have it!
4.  CONTESTS! We will have FOUR chances to win prizes! Not your typical prom here. Sure, we'll have a Zombie Prom King & Queen to announce... but what fun is it to only have TWO people walk away from a Prom as winners? We strive to ensure that EVERYONE has FUN and WINS! There will be TWO adult JELLO-BRAIN-EATING CONTESTS and TWO child (12 and under) JELLO-HEART-EATING CONTESTS!!

5. ZOMBIE WALK! YES! We are having a ZOMBIE WALK! Free to all to attend, it will begin at our normal Zombie Walk starting place -- The Courthouse Lawn -- at 5:00 PM. Come down in your bloodiest, fanciest formal wear and lurch downtown with us!

6. CHARITY! Our Zombie Prom will benefit TWO charities! The Billings Food Bank and our Relay for Life Team (The American Cancer Society) will each receive funds raised at this event! We are having a "Horror-Basket Silent Auction" to raise funds, as well as ticket sales will benefit these charities! Help people while having a bloody great time!

7. LIVE MUSIC! No DJ at this event! We will have THREE bands and ONE acoustic performance to pleasure your eardrums! Between sets and before performances begin, we will play music from a Zombie Prom Song List that is entirely made up of chosen favorites by those who are attending the prom! Click the link HERE to add to the list! We want to know what YOU want to hear at the Zombie Prom!

8. LOCATION! We are having our Zombie Carnival at the BEAUTIFUL Holiday Inn Convention Center! There will be round tables with center pieces, a dance floor, and of course, zombie decoration.

Tickets for the Zombie Prom are currently being sold via our website, www.ZombiesofMontana.org, or at ERNIE NOVEMBER for discounted, PREsale price! Price at the door will be $20 per person. Save your bloody money and get your tickets NOW before they are all gone!

We have a LOT planned for April in preparation for the Zombie Prom. We are starting fund raising with a Zombie Bake Sale on March 30th at the Pita Pit. There will be Zombie Prom tickets available for sale at the Bake Sale. All funds raised will benefit the Zombie Prom. The more money we raise, the cooler prizes, decorations, and more that we can offer YOU! Everything we do is for our lovely undead citizens of Montana.

On April 28, we will be at Walmart, selling baked goods and Zombie Prom Tickets!
On April 28, we will also be at Spring Fling selling Zombie Prom Tickets and t-shirts to raise needed funds for the Zombie Prom!

Feel Inspiration from Zombies...

Zombies are a terrifying idea. When a film is watched where a hoard of zombies tackle someone and tear them to shreds, I'm sure many are not only disgusted, but terrified. This is especially true for those who believe a Zombie Apocalypse may be right around the corner. There are a variety of ways an apocalypse can begin to end the world. We all have seen it on films, and many of them are so close to real, we can feel it.

Zombies are often painted with a disgusting appearance, snarling and blood dripping from a hungry mouth. Their skin, rotting and peeling away to reveal underlying organs and muscles. Whatever the helpless victim throws at these beasts, they knock down and continue toward their prey.

I offer another view of zombies: heroic. These hungry little monsters are going forward with what their bodies have been programed to do: feed on the flesh of the living. Have you ever seen or heard of a zombie walking away, defeated, or scared? Hell no! They move forward and knock down anything in their path. Oh, no trespassing? Screw that! We're hungry!

It's this simple concept that drives me, personally, forward in my goals of bringing zombie/horror-related activities to our area. It's a constant, uphill battle, but it is one with great rewards in the end.

I also believe in a "Below the Surface" attitude. Many see the word "Zombie" and are instantly turned away, without asking any details about what it is we are actually doing. Our events benefit not only charities, but our community as well. Many people have met their friends, spouses, etc. at our events. Zombies CAN bring people together! It's a love for the genre, a love for the films, and a continuing love for our community.

The Zombie Prom is coming up in two months. I'm extremely proud to mention the following businesses who are standing behind this event and are supporting us. Please, take the time to visit their websites or business and thank them. These companies have truly shown us their true colors.

THE RENO CLUB
LIVE WIRE TATTOO

Tickets are available at Ernie November, and are currently priced at $15.00/per person or $25.00/per couple. The day of the Prom (May 18th, 2012), ticket prices will be $20.00 per person! Tickets may also be purchased via Paypal on our website for the early bird special!

Guest Anouncement!

We're excited to add Alex Vincent to our guest list at the Zombie Prom on May 18, 2012! Alex Vincent is best known for his role as "Andy" from "Child's Play" 1 & 2. Alex is a great guy who loves to meet his fans. You don't want to miss out on this!

If you haven't seen these films (GASP! for shame!), I strongly encourage it. These are horror classics. I was watching these when I was a little monster myself. These films are from the 80's, so expect great effects, fun storyline, and complete originality. We're honored to have Alex Vincent be our guest this May.

Make sure to get YOUR tickets to the Zombie Prom NOW via our website. Admission prices WILL go up the night of the Prom!

Zombie Prom Update

So we're in the progress of putting the Zombie Prom together. I'll be honest with the fact that I'm nervous. It's hard not to be nervous when you're planning these things. It's important to move forward. It's like being in a horror movie... and surviving. If you stand around crying, the killer will chop you up. Get up and move your ass out of there. I'm on go mode and nothing is slowing me down.

I will provide information as it develops and is set firm on this blog. And here is the information.

SPONSORS

We are excited to have two sponsors so far for the Prom. The Learning Ladder Childcare and Live Wire Tattoo are the first of many sponsors for the prom! Their support means a lot to us and we hope many people will support them as well.

If you know of a business who might be interested in a lot of advertisement for a great price, have them call Laurie at (406)-850-5152! Or send me an e-mail and I will e-mail all the information.

THE ZOMBIE PROM

There is so much I wish I could write on here, but I'm holding my tongue(mmmmm yum) until things are more concrete. I promise that we have some exciting plans in the works for the Zombie Prom. It's going to be more than a dance. It's going to be more than a party. And it's going to be more than a walk. I can tell you now that if all goes according to plan, this will be a fantastic event. I am so excited for it, I get chills thinking about it.

What I CAN tell you as of now, is that the Zombie Prom will be at the Holiday Inn Convention Center on May 18th, 2012(Friday evening). We will start it off with a Zombie Walk held downtown(open to all) at 5:00 PM. The Prom doors will lurch open at 6:00 PM. Tickets for the Zombie Prom can be purchased at our website via paypal. Print out your reciept and we will have a record of all names at the door of those who pre-purchases tickets. Prices for adults are $15.00/person or $25.00/couple.

The Zombie Prom is an all-ages, non-alcoholic event. This will include activities, prom photos done by Elisian Road Photography, live musical performances, celebrity meet & greets, and contests. The Zombie Prom will end at midnight.

We would appreciate it if everyone comes to the prom sober, without weapons, and in as good a mood any zombie can be in. For those who want to drink, there will be a 21+ VIP after-party, which will begin immediately following the Prom in a hotel room at the Holiday Inn. This party will include alcohol. Admittance fee for the VIP party is $10. We will ask for ID before selling wristbands for the VIP party, so please remember to bring your ID if you plan on attending the VIP party.

That's all I can reveal at this point. I will release more details as they are confirmed and concrete. Thank you for your support. We just want to put together fun activities and watch the community we love enjoy them!
